            As any historian worth her salt could tell you, the Somalian pirate phenomenon is nothing new in American history. At her birth, America faced the prospect of dealing with the threat of pirates from North Africa – a dilemma that resulted in America’s first covert operation.     As Southpark pointed out recently, Somalia lacks several of the key elements of pirate kingdoms of yore. Waterfalls, caves, and buried treasure—all missing.
